Salto Department is one of 19 departments of Uruguay. Its capital is the city of Salto. It is located on the north and west of the country, with Artigas Department to its north, Paysandú Department to its south, Tacuarembó Department to its east and the Río Uruguay flowing at its west, separating it from Argentina.
